As the founder of FlowStop2020 LLC, I established our social entrepreneurial company in July 2020 at the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic. Witnessing the tragic loss of 200,000 American lives in such a short time compelled me to take immediate action. Early recognition of the airborne nature of COVID-19 prompted me to embark on this journey to revolutionize mask-filtration safety.
One of our first innovations at FlowStop2020 was a patent-pending seal designed to hold masks in place and minimize unfiltered airflow. Utilizing recycled TPE materials, this innovation, combined with an electrostatic and nanoscreen filtration system, captures particles as small as 0.1 microns. Our goal was to enhance mask efficacy while addressing common discomforts associated with prolonged use. Despite facing challenges in securing R&D funding, we remain committed to improving mask efficacy as a crucial aspect of public health safety.
With COVID-19 on the back burner, we are expanding our mission as a company to address more pressing global issues. Our vision at FlowStop2020 LLC is deeply rooted in making a tangible impact on critical challenges affecting our planet and its inhabitants. This led to an expansion of our focus to include the housing crisis exacerbated by flooding, natural disasters, and rising sea levels.
Using buoyant recycled styrofoam waste, I pioneered a groundbreaking material blend predominantly sourced from recycled materials. This material is fortified against degradation, fire, water, and UV rays while being lightweight, buoyant, and strong. We named this innovation A2ndLiFE, which offers a sustainable alternative to traditional building materials.
